North East Chamber of Commerce

necclogo.pngI had a very useful and constructive meeting with the North East Chamber of Commerce yesterday. We got to grips with some of the key issues facing business, particularly on Teesside, the sub region (and potential combined authority). Topics we focused on included energy, transport, exports, tourism, putting the red carpet out for inward investors, what more we can do to support homeworkers and the self employed... A wide ranging discussion where I was glad to be able to input and not just be briefed.

Working with businesses and really delivering for them is going to be vital to create the jobs we need, particularly for our young people if we want to prevent them all going off to London for work.

I look forward to future engagement.
