"I've known Louise for nearly 25 years...back to when we first joined the Labour Party, around the same time, right here in Stockton South.
"It's great to see Louise at the forefront of local community projects - assuming her default position of sleeves rolled up, getting stuck into all manner of issues affecting her home town... our home town.
"Politics gets a raw deal in people's minds, especially in towns like Stockton. It's easy to be cynical and tune out - and even easier to stand on the sidelines criticising those who put their heads above the parapet.
"Louise is a breath of fresh air. She has a no-nonsense, down to earth approach. There's no arrogance with Louise; what you see is what you get - and what you get is a hard working person who is passionate about her local area.
"She's stepped up to the mark and thrown herself headlong into helping us all; shouting about what's great in Stockton - but also recognising what's not so great and how she can help to improve things.
"She's committed and she cares - and she's battling to improve the lives of local people.
"And we haven't had that in Stockton South for a long time..."
