Plans afoot at Egglescliffe School

This afternoon I have been to see the new Head at Eggy, Simon White. He has only been in school four weeks and is already making a big impression.

We talked about plans and ambitions and he told me that one of his top priorities is to build a modern new school for his pupils.

Now we all know this is a subject not without controversy (!!) so I waited with bated breath for the next sentence. He has walked the existing site boundaries and he thinks there is room to do it there so has asked SBC to ask the Government for the funds.

I have pledged my personal support and promised to do everything I can to help.
I trust he will get the same support from the Government.

I was also delighted to hear him say that he wants the school to remain as a Community School. Excellent news.
