Visit to Northcote Street Mosque with Khalid Mahmood

Today I was joined by Khalid Mahmood, Labour candidate for Birmingham Perry Barr and MP since 2001, Alex Cunningham and Kevan Jones, both Labour candidates and MPs for our region in a visit to meet members of the Muslim community in Stockton.

We were made very welcome at the Northcote Street Mosque where Councillor Javed hosted the meeting, and we had an excellent discussion about Labour's plans for small businesses, future job opportunities and apprenticeships for young people, a two-state solution for Palestine and Israel, fair immigration and a range of local issues.

I look forward to working with the Muslim community in the future.
